How can I adjust to my girlfriend's new short hair cut?
I've been with her over 3 years, and for about 2 years she's been threatening to cut off all her beautiful hair, for reasons such as comfort, change. I used to tell her jokingly that I would break up with her if she did. More recently, I kind of just asked her not to cut it too short whenever she brought it up.
Last week she got it done out of the blue, and its really short, like a boys, shorter than mine. It is quite stylish and I told her I liked it, but despite the fact I recognise it is stylish, I just don't find it sexually attractive. Last night we were going to have sex, and I put my hand around her neck and felt the thin hair at the back of her head. Then I started thinking about it too much...then I couldn't go through with the sex.
I knew it would upset her to tell her why I didn't want the sex anymore, so I wasn't going to say. After enough pestering I eventually told her that I'm just not yet accustomed to her new look, and she cried.
It sounds really shallow but its not like I can help what I am and am not attracted to. I had warned her, for like 2 years. Please don't say 'break up with her over a hairstyle' because we are very much in love and quite committed now, having just bought a house together.
Hair will grow back. I believe the problem is in my mind, that somehow I have to get past the new look and find her sexy again. How can I do this? Or do you think it will just come over time?How can I adjust to my girlfriend's new short hair cut?

She should have known not to make any major changes to her appearance unless you were comfortable with it - obviously you were not - it's an unwritten rule in any relationship. You get used to a person's feel and appearance after all those years and then you wake up one morning and it's like there's someone else there.
You'll hopefully get used to her new look, but the fact she cut it so short even though you'd made it clear you preferred it long. says something too. Sure it's her hair, and she can have it any way she wants blah blah but it's also YOUR hair. Part of the girl you fell for. But she couldn't compromise for you. I'm going out next weekend.. after 6 months of stayin home... my sister recently started a hairdressing course.. and 2 weeks ago i decided to let her cut my hair,, for practice..! its a nice hair cut but too short for me to go out with.. its a bob thats shorter at the back but longer at front,,, my hair is naturally afro.. but i relaxed it many time's.. so now its kinda frizzy.. any ideas what i can do to my hair for my night out? This helps smooth it out and should aid in the frizziness. Then I straighten it ( still rounding it under like i did with the brush) for a smooth look. Bobs also look really cute half up. Or if you have bangs you could bobby pin them back for that ';poof'; look for going out.
Sounds like you have Rhianna's hairdo...use good styling paste and style it like hers. Another idea: buy a hairpiece at a beauty supply store. Add on a curly ponytail or a top piece that you attach with combs on either side. My hairdresser friend wears those frequently and gets compliments on her hair all the time.

I am going into middle school (7th grade) and I just got this new, short haircut, I guess its a bob. There is this guy that has had a crush on me for about the last quarter of the school year, he is my good friend, and I guess you could say that I sorta like him too.He has always tried to make me laugh, and he likes to hang out with me too, even if he doesn't like the friends that I'm with. I am thinking about donating to locks of love. But I have NEVER cut my hair that short, and i am getting kind of scared. I have always had my hair long, and I don't know what hairstyles i could do with it shorter. It would be about chin length, maybe longer. If you have any suggestions PLEASE help!! That's VERY sweet of you to consider doing something so brave! I commend you! Try the Kelly Pickler ';bob'; or any other bobs you see. It's a HOT hairstyle right now, perfect for summer and you'll be able to give to someone in need at the same time.
Just Google ';bob'; hairstyles and you should find tons! Oh, and since your hair is thick, that's a bigger plus because bobs look much better when you have thick hair. Don't get me wrong, it looks nice on thin hair too, but a bob with thick hair really volumizes your look and it's very chic!

hey!! i've had this problem before, too. my hair was WAYY past my shoulders and I needed it cut!! it went to my shoulders after it got cut. i suggest you get layers (which is VERY in rite now and cute too!) or you can always cut it EVEN SHORTER and get a pixie cut! (it's very very cute and awesome looking too....you can spike it up in the back too with some gel, and still have bangs and straightness in the front!) you can also keep it no style, but add over the forehead bangs....they are SUPER awesome, and very very fashionable. Locks of love would be a really great thing to do. Talk with your hair stylist they will give you a hair cut to suit you face. Remember if you don't like your hair cut Its only hair you will grow it back.
you're doing it for a good cause go for it!! it depends on the shape of yourface and what would be good for you, talk to a professional and ask them what would match your face. we woudlnt know how you would look good without a picture.

don't worry, i had my hair cut short for the first time a few weeks ago, and i'd always had it at least past my shoulders since i could remember.
it's so much more manageable once you get it cut, and is dead easy to maintain.
also, messy bobs are really, really in this summer, and look totally chic.
as we can't see a picture of you, you could chat to your stylist.
although most stylists are great, be wary, and try not to let yourself be persuaded into anything you don't like the sound/look of.
alternatively, you could buy a hair magazine which has hundreds of ideas.

That's VERY sweet of you to consider doing something so brave! I commend you! Try the Kelly Pickler ';bob'; or any other bobs you see. It's a HOT hairstyle right now, perfect for summer and you'll be able to give to someone in need at the same time.
Just Google ';bob'; hairstyles and you should find tons! Oh, and since your hair is thick, that's a bigger plus because bobs look much better when you have thick hair. Don't get me wrong, it looks nice on thin hair too, but a bob with thick hair really volumizes your look and it's very chic!

hey!! i've had this problem before, too. my hair was WAYY past my shoulders and I needed it cut!! it went to my shoulders after it got cut. i suggest you get layers (which is VERY in rite now and cute too!) or you can always cut it EVEN SHORTER and get a pixie cut! (it's very very cute and awesome looking too....you can spike it up in the back too with some gel, and still have bangs and straightness in the front!) you can also keep it no style, but add over the forehead bangs....they are SUPER awesome, and very very fashionable. Locks of love would be a really great thing to do. Talk with your hair stylist they will give you a hair cut to suit you face. Remember if you don't like your hair cut Its only hair you will grow it back.
you're doing it for a good cause go for it!! it depends on the shape of yourface and what would be good for you, talk to a professional and ask them what would match your face. we woudlnt know how you would look good without a picture.

don't worry, i had my hair cut short for the first time a few weeks ago, and i'd always had it at least past my shoulders since i could remember.
it's so much more manageable once you get it cut, and is dead easy to maintain.
also, messy bobs are really, really in this summer, and look totally chic.

although most stylists are great, be wary, and try not to let yourself be persuaded into anything you don't like the sound/look of.
